Girl 1: I had a prickle in my sock. 
Educator: Oh, are you ok?
Girl 1: Yeah, I got it out. 
Educator: Did you get the prickle out?
Girl 1: Yes.

Educator: Oh! Roses hurt, don’t they? Lincoln, can I take your jacket off?
Girl 1: And one big one was on my thumb.
Educator: Do you know what the prickles are called in roses?
Girl 1: No.

Educator: Sleeves up.
Girl 1: I have short sleeves.
Educator: You do have short sleeves. Zali, we’ll take your jacket off, darling. 
Visual description: Two other girls join the group of children. The children sit back on a bench, one child stands in the foreground and removes her jacket.

Educator: Now, how many levels of milk cartons have we got?
Educator and children [in unison]: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. 
Educator: How many were we going to go up to? 
Educator and children [in unison]: 10.
Educator: So, we’ve got a few more to go. But now, see how we can see the milk bottles? So, what do we need to do?
Boy 1: Put paper over them.
Educator: That's right. So, I’ve got lots of strips. Here you go.
Visual description: The girl completes taking off her jacket and walks to sit the other children on the bench. The educator bends over the milk container wall and counts them from the bottom to the top. Three containers of craft materials sit on a table to the right.

Boy 1: Some of them are poking out.
Educator: Well, do you know what the children decided this one would be? 
Children: No.
Educator: The doorbell! [laughs] Because it was poking out such a long way that we thought, “We’ll make that the doorbell.” So, when we’ve got our door, what sound does a doorbell make? 
Children [in unison]: Ding-dong! 
Visual description: The educator scatters strips of newspaper on the table. The educator walks to the milk container wall and points to a blue top sticking out at the entrance. The educator continues to scatter newspaper strips onto the table.

Educator: OK, here we go. Strips are ready. Zali, I’ll just pick up your jacket, darling. That’s when we need the brushes.
Girl [from off-screen]: And now...
Boy 1: So, we’ve only got two more levels to go.
Educator: Two more?
Boy 1: Yep. 
Educator: How many have we done? Seven. We need to get to 10.
Boy 1: Three.
Educator: Good boy. Well done. 
Boy [from off-screen]: Hey, 10 plus 10, 20. 
Educator: Excellent work.
Visual description: The children start picking up the newspaper strips. A girl in a pink hat dips her newspaper into some glue. Another girl takes her strip to the wall and drapes it over a milk container that is sticking out.

Audio: [Sounds of children talking and playing in the outdoor area.]
Girl [from off-screen]: It feels like jelly too.
Educator: It does. Does it look like jelly? 
Educator: Who likes jelly?
Children: Me.
Educator: Do we eat this jelly?
Children: No.
Educator: No.
Boy 2: Because it’s water jelly.
Educator: It is. It’s water glue, isn’t it?
Boy 2: Now where do I put it?
Educator: Wherever you can see a milk bottle. 
Lily: I can see a milk bottle.
Educator: That’s it.
Boy [from off-screen]: I want to go over this one.
Educator: OK.
Boy [from off-screen]: Can I put two?
Boy [from off-screen]: Oh, wait, this one’s another doorbell.
Educator: It could be another doorbell.
Visual description: The children cover the milk containers with strips of glued newspaper. Empty milk containers are stacked behind the wall. Lily carefully places a long strip of newspaper onto an exposed milk container.

Boy [from off-screen]: I mean, two doorbells?
Educator [from off-screen]: I’m actually wondering whether we should do a window. I’m not quite sure how we’re going to work it.
Boy [from off-screen]: Easy, I know – get a milk bottle, put that there, that on there and then one on the top.
Educator: Good thinking. 
Visual description: A series of close-ups of the children’s hands show them dipping the newspaper strips into bowls of glue and adding the strips to the wall. The scene ends with a long shot of the educator observing the children covering the wall.
