ACECQA Annual Reports

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is pleased to present its Annual Report 2022-2023.

ACECQA publishes Annual Reports in accordance with section 279 of the Education and Care Services National Law.

Highlights from ACECQA's achievements this year include:

• Streamlining the approval process for education and care providers, reducing red tape, and increasing the safety of children by improving the ability of regulators to screen out unsuitable providers through the multi-year, cross-jurisdictional Joined up Approvals IT project.
• Supporting educators in their planning, delivering and evaluation of quality programs for children by finalising and publishing the updated NQF National Approved Learning Frameworks, following Education Ministers’ approval. The updated frameworks reflect best practice and evidence-based research.
• Supporting families in understanding changes to their subsidies, by introducing the new StartingBlocks.gov.au Child Care Subsidy Calculator page.
• Improving the capability of service leaders to provide high quality and safe education and care to children primarily in regional and remote areas. Through the Australian Government-funded Community Child Care Fund Restricted (CCCFR) program, ACECQA provided tailored professional development to over 150 services who provide education and care for approximately 5000 children, 40 per cent of whom are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. There are 15 CCCFR services in South Australia.
• Championing equity and inclusion through our development and delivery of resources to assist the sector in understanding and implementing their obligations under the Disability and Discrimination Act 1992.
• Ensuring the NQF remains contemporary and fit for purpose by co-leading implementation of the 2019 NQF Review recommendations.
• Addressing education and care workforce challenges by progressing and implementing actions from the National Workforce Strategy.
