St Luke’s Pre-School’s driving commitment to providing support and encouragement to children and families with additional needs has helped the service earn an Excellent rating from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
ACECQA Board Chair Rachel Hunter congratulated the service in Dapto, New South Wales on its outstanding achievement.
“St Luke’s Pre-School has a strong focus on respecting children’s rights and celebrating diversity,” Ms Hunter said. “It’s a service that provides a range of exceptional supports for families in need, as well as leading and inspiring its community.”
St Luke’s Pre-School takes an active role in educating local community groups to develop best practices for working with children. Presenting at a number of events focusing on inclusion and supporting difference, the service helps educators, families and the community develop an understanding and awareness of children’s different learning styles.
Educators are active leaders in the sector, seeking out opportunities to share their knowledge, which includes hosting regular meetings and sharing strategies with education and care services to improve quality across the education and care sector.
“I congratulate the educators for their continued efforts to raise the bar on quality education and care,” Ms Hunter said.
The Excellent rating is the highest rating a service can receive under the National Quality Framework (NQF). Providers with a service that has received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standard’ can apply to ACECQA to assess their eligibility for the Excellent rating.
