Commitment to child safety

As the national authority responsible for administering the NQF, we are purposeful about achieving the objectives of the NQF which include child safety, health and wellbeing, and improved outcomes for children. We are guided by the principles of the NQF including that the rights and best interests of the child are paramount.

We work with our government partners and the education and care sector to support the safety, participation, and agency of children attending education and care services. We are committed to supporting the cultural safety of children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and helping governments and services provide a safe and inclusive environment for children with a disability.

Our Code of Conduct sets the standard of behaviour expected of ACECQA’s staff members. Our Code of Conduct requires all staff to be familiar with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and comply with ACECQA’s Child Safety and Wellbeing policy.
