Qualifications for Authorised Officers

An Authorised Officer, under the Education and Care National Law Act 2010, is qualified to carry out a variety of functions on behalf of their regulatory authority for the purposes of the National Law.

It is ACECQA’s role, under Section 225(1)(o) and Section 195(5) of the National Law, to determine the qualifications for Authorised Officers.

The ACECQA Board, in fulfilling this role, has approved the Authorised Officer qualifications as laid out in the ACECQA Board Position on Authorised Officer Qualifications.

State and territory regulatory authorities will also have their own criteria for engagement of Authoritsed Officers. These qualifications should be viewed in conjunction with local arrangements. For more information about local arrangements, please contact your regulatory authority.
