Governance
ACECQA was established under the Education and Care Services National Law passed by the Victorian Parliament on 5 October 2010.
We are focused on implementing quality reforms to early childhood education and care and outside school hours care, which incorporate the new National Quality Standard, a quality rating system and streamlined regulatory arrangements.
We are guided by a 13 member governing Board which has responsibility for carrying out the functions of ACECQA (as outlined in the Law). Led by Rachel Hunter as Chair and Professor Collette Tayler as Deputy Chair, the Board brings together members from across Australia.
ACECQA Board members are nominated through the Ministerial Standing Council on School Education and Early Childhood (SCSEEC) and will serve a three year term.
Our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Karen Curtis is responsible for the day to day operations, performance and financial management of ACECQA.
